Intricate Hardwood was established in Melbourne, 2017 by owner Leigh Smith, who has had 15 years of experience in the timber and cabinet making industry.

Originally from Leeton, NSW, Leigh completed his apprenticeship and gained several years of experience locally, before relocating to London where he was incredibly fortunate to gain employment for a well-respected, High-End joinery.  Whilst there he worked alongside some of the finest cabinetmakers and wood turners in the United Kingdom and gained experience with some of the most sought after timbers in the world, including the famous French Oak. He also learnt some very unique techniques and styles that are not commonly used in the Australian timber industry.

After returning to Australia, he had a dream to start his own business with a focus on creating bespoke pieces of furniture and joinery, expressing his passion and keen eye for detail in the finished product. 

The words "Quality, Bespoke, Challenging and Honesty" are the drivers at Intricate Hardwood. With the needs of the client always the main focal point, the aim is to bring to life the designs that our clients envision.  Always ensuring a high quality finish, coupled with the highest level of craftsmanship and a unique individual style. 

After many years of gaining valuable experience in both London and Melbourne, Leigh has decided to return to Leeton and base his business there, offering his craftsmanship, experience and bespoke skills to the town and surrounding areas.
